Alteration Services
We continue to offer alterations to clients of Top Shelf custom products and encourage our customers to review their wardrobes and feel welcome to make appointments to bring things in for modifications, updates and small repairs. If they need cleaning, we will have them sent out to trusted cleaners. We continue to service the products we’ve produced as people change sizes and styles change. Our workroom is headed by Mr. Don Deisch, a tailor for 35+ years whose career spans long stints with Cedrics, Saks, Nordstroms, Oxxford Clothing, as well as his own business selling custom clothing. Very few tailors have the experience and knowledge to work on tailored garments as he does.
Four years ago we lost 4 tailors in one year. This forced us to modify our business, and we now sometimes need to refer outside tailoring, especially women’s dress alterations to other tailor shops. We occasionally bring work to them to help us maintain a reasonable turn around.

Tailors on Blake is run by Sharon Terry, who is an alumni of Top Shelf, trained at one of the best tailoring schools in the state, and has owned Tailors on Blake for 30 years. They are located in St. Louis Park. Besides specializing in both men’s and women’s alterations, she also does monogramming. Sew Biz
Sew Biz is anonther excellent alternative for tailoring services that specializes in men’s and women’s alterations. Owned by Laurine Lewis, another Top Shelf alum, she has been in business since 1983, and along with her husband Steve does high quality work and is located in the Baker Building in downtown Minneapolis at 706 2nd Ave S, Minneapolis 55402 / (612) 332-6364
Irina’s Stitch in Time
Irina’s Stitch in Time specialized in dressmaking and alterations. The owner Irina Boiar is an experienced Russian trained seamstress. She is located almost directly across the street from Top Shelf. Her address is: 3021 Lyndale Ave S., Mpls, MN 55408 / (612) 822-4744
